All Placemarker patterns include many interactive features *when following them online. Once a pattern has been added to your account, you can:
Select your size(if the pattern has multiple sizes) and all the numbers will automatically update throughout the pattern to show you only the numbers for that size.
Save your place. Click "Start" and the first step of the pattern will be bolded, then keep clicking "Next" after you complete each step. Your place will be automatically saved, even if you close the window or log out.
Hover over abbreviationsto see the full term. Forgot what "pm" means? Hover over (on a desktop) or tap (on tablets or phones) the abbreviation and it'll tell you what it stands for ("pm" means "place marker!").
Watch tutorials. We're continuously working on building a huge library of flashcard-like tutorials (quick references that automatically play on a loop) to help remind you how to do any technique.
Make notesto remember what yarn or needle size you're using, if your gauge is different, or anything else you need to remember!
*Though Placemarker patterns are best used through our website so all the interactive features are available, if this is not an option a PDF download link will also be emailed to you.
About This Pattern:
Yarn: 80 (100, 125, 150, 175) yards of dk weight yarn We used 1 skein of June Cashmere DK in "Black Cherry" to make the adult small size.
Needles: US 6 / 4 mm 16” circulars (for Child–Adult Large sizes) US 6 / 4 mm double pointed needles or long circulars for magic loop (for all sizes) or equivalent types & lengths in size needed to obtain gauge
Gauge: 5.5 sts & 8 rows per inch in stockinette *after machine washing
*June Cashmere DK blooms beautifully after being machine washed once. If you are using this yarn we recommend knitting a gauge swatch, machine washing it once, then measuring it to make sure you're getting the correct gauge. If you are not using June Cashmere DK, we suggest measuring your gauge swatch before blocking or washing, and not blocking or washing your finished hat either (it will stay stretchy that way!).
